Free Crochet Patterns

Crocheting (and other crafty pursuits) have often saved me when nothing else could. While I’m not sharing everything I ever make online, here are a few original patterns I’ve written myself, free for your use.
Prismatic Dice Pouch
Your dice deserve to be stored and transported in a style that reflects your personality and good taste. You need something that not only contains your dice, but celebrates them with pride.
This handcrafted, multicolored dice bag is just what you’re looking for. Crocheted with 100% cotton, it’s sturdy enough to protect your dice while you’re on the road to your next dungeon adventure, but soft enough to cushion them from wear and tear on the way. It features a secure, double-loop drawstring closure to keep your babies tucked safely inside.
Jane Austen’s Dice Bag
“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a gamer in possession of a good set of dice, must be in want of a dice bag.”
The tabletop roleplaying community in Regency England was small, but avid, particularly among the landed gentry. Diaries of the period record many a long country evening engaged in extended dungeon crawls and enthusiastic hack n’ slash events.
Starburst Pennant
This shield-shaped flag banner is super simple to do, and the little flags whip up in a jiffy, even when you do multiple colors and have to weave in those ends. It looks great in solids, too, though I didn’t snap any photos of any. I may make one in a different set of colors, for seasonal decorating. See the pattern.
Loopy Edge Coaster Crochet Pattern
Can you have too many coasters? If your answer is “no” then this pattern is for you! Coasters are an easy way to freshen up home decor for the seasons, make quick gifts, and are a great way to use up leftover yarn!
The loopy edge of this design makes it look more complicated than it really is. I like using lightweight cotton yarn for coasters because it’s a little more delicate in appearance than worsted, and the cotton is great for absorbing heat and moisture. You can use a heavier yarn if you like — just use an appropriately-sized hook. See the pattern.
