Flowers are great.
I have probably taken more photos of flowers than just about anything except my cats. Including my kids (but to be fair, my kids were babies before we had cameras in our hands all the time, so the balance might have been shifted if they’d been born 20 years later).
Flowers are easy to take pictures of because you’re almost guaranteed to have something pretty just by pointing your lens at it. If you know a little about photography, it’s way too easy to fill up your camera’s memory disk with an abundance of posies. But hey, that is not such a bad thing. One of the things I miss about having Instagram is being able to scroll through my own wall filled with lovely florals.
I have only selected a few from my camera roll to share in this post today, some of my favorites from the 10+ years I’ve been using an iPhone to take pictures. They are in no particular order. Fair warning — sometimes I like to edit photos a lot. It has something to do with me being a fantasy writer, I think — just capturing the perfectly lovely world as it exists is never enough for me, I need to keep looking for something more.
Enjoy!
