Last update 11/12/2004

It is, perhaps, an exercise in self-indulgence to post these logs and commentaries on the web. It is highly likely that no one has any interest in reading an in-depth examination of the romance of two fictional characters in a fantasy world, aside from the primary participants. But I'm an avowed exhibitionist and voyeur when it comes to roleplaying, and it seems to me a great shame that these carefully collected records of what, to my point of view, was a great love story should go unseen by anyone without access to my hard drive. You may blame or praise the Internet for giving me the ability to publish at will.

I have created two threads of commentary for the chapters below. One tells the story of Faer and Edouard, offering explanations for what is going on, especially in the early days when there is a distinct dearth of logs, and explaining threads that contributed to the story but not might be clear otherwise.

The second thread is from a plotter's meta-level, and in it I attempt to explain the out-of-character decisions that were made. Needless to say,in the nearly two yearsit took to tell this tale, there were many unexpected bumps in the road. I hope that, for those of you interested in long-term plotting yourselves, this commentary will help show how to turn such bumps in the road into advantages that enhance your plot, instead of derailing it.

The logs speak for themselves. They have been edited for your reading ease, with an attempt to cut down on extraneous happenings, traffic and travel.

Cautionary Note: Everything read in these pages is Out-Of-Character knowledge. Do not bequeath knowledge gathered here to your character in Castle Marrach.
