A Single Creative Act
“Creativity is not a solitary movement. That is its power. Whatever is touched by it, whoever hears it, sees it, senses it, knows it, is fed. That is why beholding someone else’s creative word, image, idea, fills up up, inspires us to our own creative work. A single creative act has the potential to feed a continent. One creative act can cause a torrent to break through stone.”

Nice.
Comment by Mahala — January 24, 2009 @ 10:23 pmThis is so true. Thank you for the quote
Graduate school is gnawing at my lunch because I just can’t manage to string together little short stories that have no power because they have to be scaled down, with no drama or spirit or action. It’s hard to read and to write. Sometimes I manage to crank out a few for class, but my heart is still with children’s lit and fantasy and steampunk and scifi, because they’re fun to write and read. Anyway, have a great day – and thanks again for the quote…
