Because I’m many days behind on my drawing assignment (I’m at 16, and it’s the 21st) I don’t have any faces in reserve to post over the weekend. So I thought I’d show you something I accomplished last weekend, when I took a couple of days off work and had some time to haul out art supplies beyond paper and pencil.

Well, I painted her!

Done with acrylics on paper designed for acrylics (because canvas gets a little expensive…)

Despite a slight materials problem (the cheap raw umber I had on hand didn’t want to mix with the higher quality titan buff very well) I think it came out pretty well, especially considering this was only the second time I’ve done a face with paint. Didn’t spend much time on hair. My biggest problem is patience!
