#13 of 30: TBA

Filed under: art — Stace @ 4:47 pm

So I started this drawing thinking that I was going to be drawing Quaren, the male lead from the current WIP, but since I couldn’t (at the time) decide what Quaren actually looked like, I didn’t do very well. All I know is that this is most definitely NOT him.

So is this guy, then? I decided to let you tell me. Yay, a contest!

Leave a comment to this post (at Artifacts — LJ comments have been disabled for this post, so all the entries will be in one place) telling me the name of this, uh, “handsome” fellow, and a little bit about who he is and what he’s like. I’ll pick my favorite entry at the end of the month and reward you with either your choice of pics from the challenge (cleaned up and inked) OR a bookwish of up to $15. Multiple entries are acceptable, so enter often for your chance to win!!1!

Tomorrow’s entry is much, much better. Also, I have a little bonus to show you … if I can remember to bring it in to scan.

Thanks for your continued support!

  1. Heh. Here’s a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” (pick this entry, that is) response–it’s me, your husband.

  2. This is Hoben and he’s one of the Creators in the land of Ephily. The Creators are a select few artists who sit in a room and sketch pictures of new creatures and when the sketches are finished off with a dusting of magic sand over the ink, the creature then comes to life somewhere in the land. What makes Hoben a good creator is that not only does he have a mind for subtle detail, but he also understands balance and incorporates that into what he creates.

  3. (don’t mind my crappy French sentence structure!!) :)

In fact, we don’t know his name. The nurse said he arrived at the hospital the previous night looking confused and lost. No identification was found in his possession. He had no external injuries, but after closer inspection, a nasty bump was found on the back of his head. Other than a mild concussion, there wasn’t a scratch on him to indicate what might have happened. He had absolutely no recollection of any event that might have lead him to the Emergency Room.

A local police officer was sent following a call notifying them of a patient with amnesia. They set up an appointment for him to come in and get his finger-prints matched at the nearest precinct the next day. Maybe that would give them a lead considering the morning visit from a small time news station airing a brief “noontime” story with the man’s picture yielded no response whatsoever…

  4. … “i will tell you, as i look into your eyes, i am not what you think i am.”
He smiles and looks at the leather thongs binding the sand-coloured breeches about his legs.
i do not remember too much, but what i do know is significant… i am not human… i am beyond that. i am what you wish to be…i am mortal, i am feeling, i am sexual, i just have taken all and gone to a place where all that is painful and evil has gone…care to join me?
